To file bankruptcy you will need to complete the following steps:

Questionnaire.
You will need to complete and return the bankruptcy questionnaire. The information will be used to complete the various bankruptcy schedules and statement of financial affairs that will be filed with the court.-

Documents.
You will need to provide mandatory documents for us to verify your income, expenses, and assets to accurately prepare your bankruptcy petition. Also, after the case is filed your documents need to be submitted to your case worker (bankruptcy trustee) for review. Paper or PDF copies of paperwork can be provided to us. Below is a list of the documents needed:- Most recent two (2) years of Tax Returns or IRS tax return transcripts.
- Past seven (7) months of Income Information (paystubs, profit and loss, child support, pension, etc.).
- Past 60 days of Bank Statements for all accounts.
- Credit Report. You can download a free credit report at www.annualcreditreport.com; www.freecreditreport.com; www.creditkarma.com.
- Copy of Social Security Card and California Driver’s License.
- Divorce Decree and Marital Separation Agreement.
- Mortgage loan statement.
- Car loan statement.
- Wage Garnishment / Sherriff Levy

Credit Counseling.
Everyone who files for bankruptcy must take Credit Counseling Classes. You may use whichever company you want, so long as they are an approved course provider. Approved providers include: www.accessbk.org; www.ccadvising.com;
There are two classes:
1st class. BEFORE you file Bankruptcy. Don’t work this can be done in the comfort of your home on the PHONE or COMPUTER. It usually takes 1 – 2 hours.
2nd class. AFTER you file the bankruptcy petition and before it closes out you need to take a second class.
